Candles do more than scent a room, they set a mood, create an atmosphere, and invite us to pause. At TRUCE, our candles are carefully hand-poured using a luxury coconut apricot wax blend and cotton wicks for a clean, slow, and even burn. To enjoy them fully and safely a little candle care goes a long way.

Here’s how to make the most of your TRUCE candle:

1. First Burn Matters

The first time you light your candle, let it burn long enough for the wax to melt all the
way across the surface, edge to edge. This sets the “memory” of the candle and
prevents tunneling (when wax builds up along the sides). For most TRUCE candles, this
takes about 2–3 hours.

2. Trim the Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to about ¼ inch. This keeps the flame steady, prevents
mushrooming (that black ball at the tip), and reduces soot. Use a wick trimmer, scissors,
or even pinch off the excess once the wick is cool.

3. Burn Time Balance

For the best experience, burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. Longer
burns can cause the wick to lean or smoke. Once you’re finished, extinguish the flame
gently — a snuffer works best, but blowing it out carefully is fine too.

4. Safety First

 Always burn your candle on a heat-resistant surface.
 Keep it away from drafts, curtains, and anything flammable.
 Never leave a burning candle unattended.
 Keep out of reach of children and pets.

5. Reuse the Vessel

Our TRUCE vessels are designed with minimalist luxury in mind — too beautiful to
toss! Once your candle has burned down, clean out the jar and repurpose it as a holder
for pens, makeup brushes, flowers, or even as a keepsake container.

6. Store with Care

When not in use, keep your candle away from direct sunlight and heat and cover to
prevent dust. This preserves the fragrance and ensures your wax stays smooth and
creamy.
